   Arrowhead Golf Course
239-596-1000 View Map
Beautifully designed by noted architect Gordon G. Lewis, Arrowhead features 18 picturesque holes positioned among 16 pristine lakes and rolling fairways. With spacious greens and wide landing areas, Arrowhead is friendly to high-handicappers. Better golfers, however will find the many well-placed bunkers and water hazards a real test of their skills. With four sets of tees, our course allows for play at varying degrees of difficulty.

   Cypress Lake Country Club
239-481-3222 View Map
Member-owned, the club is, first and foremost, accessible. With a maximum of 350 golfing (“Founder”) members, there is room on the course for all who wish to play. The course has five sets of tees, and can be played from under 5,000 yards to almost 7,000 yards. Its water, sand and trees combine to provide challenge as well as subtle beauty. Still true to Dick Wilson’s original design, it boasts water on all but two holes. Balls cuddle into the best and hardiest of today’s new hybrids. The Bermuda grass fairways reward excellent shot placement and fast, undulating, TiffEagle greens challenge even the best short games. When new, it was ranked in the 200 toughest courses in the world; today, its rating and slope from the championship tees are 73.9/132. Casual golfers can enjoy its pleasures, while low-handicappers shake their heads and promise themselves “Next time….” The Cypress Lake golf course is unusual among area golf courses in that it is set on a rectangular piece of land with no residential areas except on its external boundaries. While most members use carts, the layout makes it ideal for the golfer who enjoys walking. Wildlife find it an agreeable home site, and golfers share the course with great blue herons, egrets, ibis, an occasional alligator, several varieties of large turtles, our resident ospreys, and many other creatures that seem to understand that passing humans are no threat to them. The course was designed in 1959-1960 by Dick Wilson (1904-1965), a contemporary and respected rival of Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Many of Wilson’s major renovations and original designs are well-known today: New York’s Shinnecock Hills, Florida’s Seminole, Bay Hill in Orlando, the Blue Monster at Doral, La Costa (California), Cog Hill # 3 – Dubsdread in Chicago, Laurel Valley in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, and the Lakeside Course (now The Meadows) at The Greenbrier. His work is characterized by lakes, open fairways, and elevated greens slanted toward the fairways and defended by bunkers, so that the front of the green is open but an accurate shot is needed to reach the back. In 2001, the golf course was completely renovated under the direction of golf course architect Ron Garl, who restored many of Dick Wilson’s original design elements, as well as adding unique ‘signature’ features of his own. The irrigation system was replaced and extended; 7,000 truckloads of fill were brought in to raise and recontour the fairways in order to improve the course’s drainage. The driving range was substantially lengthened and widened; TiffEagle greens were grown in. The $2.7 million project converted an excellent golf course into an outstanding experience. The club’s practice facilities are extensive. A large putting green prepares the golfer for the challenges of the course: it hasn’t a flat spot on it. The elevated pitching green can be attacked from both sides, or from the large adjoining sand trap. The range features small greens close in for short iron practice as well as the usual distant flags to measure prowess with the woods.

   Eastwood Country Club

Eastwood Golf Course, designed by Bob Von Hagge and tour player Bruce Devlin, was opened for play in 1977. The facility plays to a Par of 72 and measures approximately 6800 yards from the blue tees and 6400 yards from the white tees. The Ladies' tees play to 5300 yards. In 1984, "Golf Digest" Magazine ranked Eastwood in its top 50 Public Golf Facilities in the United States and held this ranking for 10 years. A star designation was implemented in 1996 due to the over-whelming growth of public courses.During the summer of 1992, over $1.3 million of improvements were made. The primary focus of the project was to reconstruct the 18 putting surfaces to meet U.S.G.A. specifications. Improvements were made to the irrigation and drainage system, cart path repair, and grass tee driving range, expanded parking lot, landscaping, and improvements to the clubhouse and grounds with over 1,200 new trees planted. The 84 bunkers were reconstructed as well. It is now time to re-address this great facility. On May 1, 2007 Eastwood will close for five months to focus on similar upgrades. 21 new putting surfaces along with tees, bunkers and irrigation upgrades will be the primary issues addressed. Over one million rounds have been played since our 1992 project and we’re pleased the Mayor and Council are 100% behind this project.

The Fort is set in a unique and warm setting in the heart of Fort Myers. The “Fort”is only one mile south of the Thomas Edison Home and fact tells us that Mr. Edison, Mr. Henry Ford and others loved to play the “Fort”in the 1920´s. During the summer of 1991 a $1.5 million renovation project was undertaken which included construction of the greens to U.S.G.A. specifications; replacement of the irrigation system and pump station; installation of drainage and reclaimed water line; installation of 8,500 lf of new cart paths on 9 holes, transplanting of 120 trees, new berms, landscaping, and a split rail fence along the entire perimeter of the course; the slope on the canal was changed; bridges on Holes 3 & 8 were moved; 9 new bunkers constructed and 14 new tees. The renovations included a $3 million clubhouse, new Pro Shop, and parking lot. The maintenance road and a new parking lot were paved with completion of the new 6,000 square foot maintenance complex in July 1992. Dress Code Enforced/Soft Spikes Only

Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club
239-278-9090 View Map
The Royal and The Sabal Although Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club is only a few years old, it has quickly become one of the most popular golfing destinations in southwest Florida. We started out with the 18-hole Royal course in 1998; added another nine in 1999; and went to 36 holes in 2001. Our two championship semi-private 18-hole courses – the Royal and the Sabal – are each named for the lines of lofty palms planted along their fairways. “Some say the Sabal is tougher than the Royal,” says Bob Kelly, our head golf professional. “But that’s because we have a string of three difficult holes there – Nos. 7, 8 and 9. But the rest of the holes are comparable to the Royal.” Overall the greens and landing areas are very generous and player friendly. You’ll find you can often pull your driver out of your bag for tee shots. Our courses were designed by the creative team of Gordon G. Lewis and Jed Azinger, two architects who have teamed up to create dozens of courses that take full advantage of the type of golf that Florida is famous for – undulating fairways, with tiered greens, lots of bunkers and water hazards. Royal Course – A challenging course where all players can enjoy themselves!
